Big big big news for Paladin

Paladin is now an RTO

After many years of working through an Auspice agreement with McMillan Staff Development, Paladin Risk Management Services is now a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in its own right.  Paladin now owns the Professional Security & Risk Institute [RTO Code 45173] (although the name will be changing).

I would like to personally thank Ben and Lauren McMillan for their amazing support, guidance, patience and professionalism over the last six years.  There is no doubt that they have played a significant part in allowing me to train close to 2500 people in that period.

What this means for those planning on attending a course in the future is that there will be more courses and many more options in terms of delivery modes.

Along with the current face-to-face courses being provided, there will be changes made to the on-line delivery with all courses having a scheduled start and end date with regular webinar tutorials.

I am also planning a very exciting initiative – the delivery of a  live streaming course for those that prefer training that is “face-to-face” but have difficulty travelling.  To date, I have had participants travel to undertake my courses from 16 different countries.  This course will provide the opportunity to get the same benefit, but without having to come to Australia.

In addition, a significant number of on-line self-paced learning courses are being developed. There will be a mix of accredited and non-accredited courses covering a wide variety of topics.  The establishment of my own studio will allow for consistent, fresh and up to date content to be developed and shared.

I am really looking forward to this new chapter and the opportunities it presents to spread the message that we need to stop ‘doing risk management’ and manage risk.

Gladiator GRC™ is here

One of the questions I have been asked consistently on the courses I run is whether there is a software solution available that follows the methodology that I have developed for managing risk.

Well I’m delivering with the arrival of the first two modules of Gladiator GRC. First cab off the rank is the risk register and the linked control register.  This will be followed, in turn, by the incident database and, eventually, the compliance module.

The key feature of Gladiator GRC™ is the integration between all the functions allowing organisations the ability to develop assurance and audit plans that are linked to the most critical controls in the business.  In addition, there is no more guesswork on the effectiveness of controls – Gladiator GRC™ allocated performance measures and outcome requirements for each control so that “the control is effective because nothing has happened” will no longer be valid.

For organisations that require accreditation, Gladiator GRC™ will be a must as it reduces the need for teams to be put together in the months leading up to accreditation – the evidence will all be there in the system!!!

Gladiator GRC is being rolled out to a select number of organisations over the next 2 months before becoming available for purchase early in 2020.
