Managing Risk in Projects

About the Course

We constantly see reports in the news of projects where budgets have blown out significantly or schedules extended dramatically.  We have also witnessed trains delivered that don’t fit inside tunnels.

The following are the key learning outcomes for the Managing Risk in Projects course:

  • Detail risk management definitions
  • Highlight the risk management environment for projects
  • A comprehensive understanding of each element of the ISO AS/NZS 31000 process and its application to Project risks
  • Highlight issues surrounding contingency management
  • Discuss issue management
  • Identify a range of risks to Projects

Participants will be guided through the risk management process using real-world examples.  In doing so, participants will be able to relate the workshop content to their own workplaces.

Courses will be presented through live streaming.

Cost

Participants have the option of undertaking the course as either accredited or non-accredited training.  Those that choose the accredited option will be provided an assessment which, upon completion, will result in the awarding of a Certificate of Attainment for BSBPMG517 – Manage Project Risk.

Course costs are as follows:

  • Accredited: $850 (GST Exempt)
  • Non-accredited: $660 (GST Inclusive)

WHS – a Practical Approach

About the Course

It is no secret based on my past blogs that I do not believe that there is such a thing as a safety risk, or a reputation risk, or a security risk .etc. they are just risks.  This short course looks at the management of workplace health and safety using a more practical approach, one that does not rely on documentation to keep people safe.

Participants will be guided through the risk management process using real-world examples.  In doing so, participants will be able to relate the workshop content to their own workplaces.

Courses will be presented through live streaming.

Cost

Participants have the option of undertaking the course as either accredited or non-accredited training.  Those that choose the accredited option will be provided an assessment which, upon completion, will result in the awarding of a Certificate of Attainment for BSBWHS503 – Contribute to the Systematic Management of WHS Risk.

Course costs are as follows:

  • Accredited: $850 (GST Exempt)
  • Non-accredited: $660 (GST Inclusive)

Business Continuity Management

About the Course

The current COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on the fact that organisational resilience and continuity do not magically occur because an organisation has a plan on a shelf.  This course will provide insight into:

  • The management of disruption related risk within an enterprise risk management context;
  • The business continuity process;
  • Development of business continuity plans for each critical business function; and
  • Testing of business continuity plans.

Participants will be guided through the process using real-world examples.  In doing so, participants will be able to relate the workshop content to their own workplaces.

Courses will be presented through live streaming.

Cost

Participants have the option of undertaking the course as either accredited or non-accredited training.  Those that choose the accredited option will be provided an assessment which, upon completion, will result in the awarding of a Certificate of Attainment for BSBCCO501 – Develop Business Continuity Strategy.

  • The control environment
  • The importance of controls in the assessment of likelihood
  • Identifying controls
  • Assessing control criticality
  • Measuring the effectiveness of controls
  • Identifying, designing and implementing appropriate risk treatments  where the current control environment is assessed as inadequate.

Courses will be live streamed.

Cost

The course is $660 (GST Inclusive).

Risk Governance for Boards and CEOs

About the Course

Major corporate scandals. Royal Commissions. Tragic avoidable incidents.  All of these have one thing in common – the failures in controls were not identified until after the emergence of the incident.

What this has demonstrated is that Executives and Boards are potentially not asking the right questions in relation to organisational risks.

This course will highlight the manner in which the Executive and the Board can gain confidence that the systems and processes within the organisation are adequate and working effectively just through asking the right questions.

This course is a must for those on Boards, aspiring to be on Boards or those who hold senior Executive positions.

Courses will be live streamed.

Cost

The course is $660 (GST Inclusive).
