Why do I teach face-to-face risk management courses?

I’m often asked why I do these face-to-face courses; it definitely is a big ask.

I do 25-26 courses per year – week on, week off – and I go to every part of the country.This year, I may also be taking the course overseas. It does take a lot out of me.

So, what gets me to each of those courses? Well, there is a couple of reasons.

First and foremost, I’m absolutely passionate about risk and risk management.  I believe it makes a difference to every organisation that takes the time and energy, and puts resources towards developing and implementing and integrated risk framework within their organisation.

Secondly, I get to mingle with risk professionals, those who have been in their career for a long time or those who are just starting out. And I hear the stories, I hear the anecdotes, I hear the case studies and that raises my knowledge as well. And then further down the track, future students get the benefit of that because I’m always tinkering with the course to make sure that it is the best that it can be and contains the most up-to-date knowledge.
